Dear Dr. Fuhrman,

Thank you so much for bringing me back to health by reading your book and following your Eat To Live plan. I'm 46-years-old and I have tried to eat well and exercise all of my life - at least I thought I was eating well. Recently I went to my primary care physician for a routine check-up. The blood tests showed that my liver numbers were high, my cholesterol was 230, my ferratin numbers were high, and my ANA numbers were 1:640. I was also having the following problems:

* Constant stuffy nose
* I was only able to jog for 1 minute without stopping and getting out of breath
* Excruciating pain in my rectum waking me in the middle of the night
* Rash on my face and chest, and little cysts around my eyes
* Finger stiffness, ankle and foot pain to the point where it was difficult to get out of bed in the morning
* After laying on the floor it was hard to get myself off the floor
* Burping frequently
* Stomach pains
* Burning in chest
* Sudden cough while eating
* Pain in kidneys
* Brain fog
* Weak urine stream
* Enlarged prostate
* Foot fungus
* Bloating after eating wheat products
* Hot sweats after eating wheat products
* Bad nightmares
* Depression
* Problems sleeping
* Feelings of hopelessness and anxiety, especially while trying to sleep
* Loose bowel movements

The doctor thought I might have lupus. So he sent me to a rheumatologist who said my blood tests were of a person with early stages of lupus or anti-phospholipids syndrome. But I didn't have enough of the symptoms to be fully diagnosed with lupus or anti-phospholipids syndrome.

I went to a podiatrist for foot pain and he said the x-ray showed a bone spur, probably from an old injury. The doctor recommended physical therapy, but I never went for it.
